Smokin' Hot

Happy Wednesday!  Isn't it nice there's a short week this week?  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend.  This card kind of describes the focus of our Memorial Day - grilling and chilling and enjoying good friends and good food!

It's time for a new challenge sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and our sponsor this week is Meljen's Designs. It's so fun to create with Meljen's whimsical images, especially if you have a great sketch to follow as we do this week.

This one is pretty simple and quick to put together but with terrific results.

We're grateful for the support of Melissa at Meljen's Designs this week as our challenge sponsor.  The Grand Prize Winner of the challenge will receive four non-colored digis of their choice.  That's a fabulous prize if you love Meljen's Designs as much as I do!

This fun image from Meljen's Designs is called "Smokin' Hot" and it makes a perfect Father's Day card for those guys out there that are grill masters!  That's the case in our house all year long.  Nothing beats the taste of grilled food!  The digi was colored with Copics and the papers are from my Cosmo Cricket stash - they were just made to pair with this guy!

I'm hoping you'll join us this week in creating a card with this sketch. In the meantime, take a visit at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and see the cute cards that my teammates created for your inspiration!

Friends

Hi everyone! I hope all my friends and followers in the U.S. are enjoying the Memorial Day holiday.  I've been enjoying this wonderfully long weekend by crafting and doing a few card challenges - like this card here.  I love A Day For Daisies digis so much, especially this sweet image of Rose Red & Snow White from the Fairy Tales release last year.  I thought this was a perfect image for a special friend's birthday card.

This beautiful digi stamp was colored with Copics.  I used die cuts from Spellbinders and MFT and gorgeous papers from My Mind's Eye "Howdy Doody" from the Miss Caroline line.

I'm playing in the ADFD challenge this week - my first time which is hard to believe!

I was inspired by this sketch at The Sweet Stop and am playing in that sketch challenge too.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a terrific week ahead!

Basketball Herb

Happy Friday folks and a happy start to the Memorial Day weekend for those of you in the U.S.  This holiday weekend is always so fun as it signals the near-end of the school year and the near-start of summer.  We're due to have nice sunny and warm temps here in Michigan and I'm just planning to relax and enjoy every bit of it!

I can't think of a better way to start off the weekend than showcasing the new release at StampFairy.  The adorable teddy, Herb, is back.  This time he's playing basketball - like many folks will do this holiday weekend.

http://www.stampfairy.com/digistamps_misc_herbbasketball.htm
Here's the entire Herb Basketball collection just released today at StampFairy.  That wonderful basketball is a freebie!  This set is so perfect for all those sports-lovin' guys out there.

On my card, Herb and the freebie basketball were colored with Copic markers.  I had the fun papers here that are textured to resemble actual basketball material and the photo image paper of basketballs.  Both have been in my stash forever and I'm so glad for a fun image like this to pull them out and use them.

.
I was inspired by this layout from Sketches by Carly.  I could visualize Herb and that basketball freebie instantly in this sketch when I landed on the Sketches by Carly site this morning. My card is being entered in their challenge #57 that started today.

Now make a stop over at StampFairy World where you'll see more fabulous cards created with this new Herb Basketball collection by the StampFairies.  Some great inspiration there!  Enjoy the weekend and be safe!

Dance Time

Happy Wednesday! Today starts a new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and I've created a special card for my niece whose ballet recital is coming up in a couple of weeks.  She is such a good dancer and I always enjoy watching her dance. I know she'll love this card in celebration of her year of accomplishment.

Here's the fantastic sketch that Arlana created for this week's challenge.  It goes together quickly and I like the effect of the diamond focal panel.

Our fabulous sponsor this week is A Day For Daisies and we all love to create with Tammy's digis.  A Day For Daisies provides themed categories of over 1000 fun and whimsical digital images including fairy tales and magical mermaids, cutie kids, vintage illustrations, sentiments and lovely designs for all occasions. The Grand Prize winner of the sketch challenge this week will receive a $12 gift certificate to the ADFD shop - a wonderful and generous prize.  Thanks Tammy!

This gorgeous A Day For Daisies image is called "Dance Time" and it fit the sketch perfectly.  The beautiful dancer was colored with Copic markers and I edged the diamond panel with a liquid copper paint marker by Marvy.  The lovely papers are My Mind's Eye "Be Happy" from the Follow Your Heart line. A few teeny little pearls encircle the neck and ear of the dancer image. The soft tulle flowers are from Recollections.

We'd sure love it if you played along with us this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  We are so inspired by the wonderful creations of our players in each challenge.  In the meantime, stop on by the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog and see the inspiration created for you by my fellow Divas there - you'll love what you see!

Olivia's Pigtails

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome back for another Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch challenge.  Wow the past week has flown by with all the activities around here.  Only a few more weeks of school and we're already feeling the pressure with advanced placement tests, some finals already, plus sporting events (my kids are in baseball and track this season).  On top of that, my brother is visiting from out of town which adds to the excitement since we see him only once a year.  So there's plenty going on around here!

Here's the sketch to follow this week for the challenge.  It looks more complicated than it really is but worth every bit of effort for the look you get when done.  I hope you'll give it a try and join us this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!
We're using Digi Stamp Boutique images this week who is our monthly sponsor here at SSW.  These Digi Stamp Boutique images make such wonderful cards - whether you're creating for a gal or a guy they have it all. Sally Ann the owner of Digi Stamp Boutique is providing the Grand Prize winner of the challenge this week with six free digi stamps from her store.  Very generous Sally Ann and thank you!

I chose this delightful DSB image in the Rosie Collection 1 set for my card this week.  This little cutie reminded me of my little niece Olivia with her hair in pigtails this way.  I remember one time she asked me to put her hair in pigtails like her older cousins.  There was barely enough hair, as well as rubber bands way to big for the task. And this is how it turned out! She looked so stinkin' cute though and loved her new hairdo.  She wore it that way a lot afterwards : )  Well this one was colored with Copics and combined with my favorite papers from Jillibean Soup.  Olivia would love these patterns and colors together!

Thanks for joining me today.  You'll want to stop on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and see what the other gals created for you inspiration using Digi Stamp Boutique images.  You'll love what you see there!

Mother's Day

Just a quick post late Sunday night on my card I created for my Mom.  These soft pretty colors remind me so much of her and the colors she wears a lot and looks best in.  She had tears when she saw this card and the handwritten note inside.

I created this sentiment in Paint.net with the colors matching these gorgeous papers from My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline collection.  The rosette flowers are handmade.  The sentiment was stamped over with a Waltzingmouse Stamps - Vintage Labels 5 stamp before diecutting.

Here's my little freebie for all you Moms and daughters out there - you should be able to right click and save these to your computer - one in color and the other in black.

Happy Mother's Day and thanks for stopping by!

Barry Moving

Happy, happy Friday!  It's a nice sunny day here and I'm so glad the weekend is approaching!  Today's release at StampFairy is a fun one and features our adorable Barry bear getting ready to move to a new home!

The collection is called Barry Moving and isn't it perfect for this time of year when all the college kids are moving back home for the summer?!  The sentiment medallion is the freebie today.

Sweet Barry was colored with Copic markers and the papers I used are digital from Shery K Designs.

I was inspired by this sketch from Stamptacular Sunday Challenges and entering their challenge this week.

Pop on over to StampFairy World and see more inspiring cards with this new collection that were created by the rest of our StampFairies.  You'll love what you see there!  Have a great weekend!

Life's More Amusing Than We Thought!

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for another Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch challenge and we have a wonderful design for you this week.  We also have a new sponsor for the challenge this week - Deidre Mosher Designs and you'll love her images that our team is showcasing.

Here's the terrific sketch to follow.  It's our monthly blast from the past sketch - one of our favorites from week 96 that we're bringing back for this challenge.  It makes for a fabulous card design and I hope you'll try it this week.

We're really excited about our new sponsor this week, Deidre Mosher Designs.  Deidre has tons of fun, whimsical digi stamps that we had a great time creating with our sketch this week.  She's an artist and illustrator for more than 25 years and I love her wonderful stamps.  Check out all her terrific digi stamps at her Etsy store:  Deidre Mosher Designs.  The lucky Grand Prize winner of the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge will receive a $10 gift certificate for Deidre's digi stamps.  Thanks so much Deidre!

I chose this amusing image, Domino the Funny Dog, to create with which comes with the fun sentiment.  I thought how "amusing" to have a dog in yellow and colored him that way with Copic markers. I like the soft colors of the image against the strong background papers from Basic Grey's "Out of Print" collection.

The fun flower embellishment I created with a MS edge punch (the same used on the edge of the ribbon) and gathered it in a circular pattern.  The button covers up some of the rough edges and the pop dots I used to secure it.  The flourish is a MFT die.

I hope you'll join us this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!  Head over to the SSW blog and see the wonderfully whimsical Deidre Mosher Designs images the Divas created with to inspire you!

Dive Deep

Happy Sunday! I hope you're having a terrific weekend.  I thought I'd pop in here and post this fun card with new images from Doodle Pantry.  These are from a new collection called Scuba Sheep and Ants which features pre-colored images, black outline images, two fun digi papers and a whole slew of sentiments.

This is also the collection that you get FREE just for playing in the Doodle Pantry Digital Doodles Challenge this month.  It's pretty easy to do - just create a card using a Doodle Pantry image and enter it in our challenge, then you'll get this Scuba Sheep and Ants collection emailed to you. I think that's a pretty good deal!

I used the black outline images in this set for my card and colored them using Copic markers.

The papers and sentiment used on my card are part of the Scuba Sheep and Ants collection too.  I just love these scuba diving ants - don't they just bring a smile to your face!

I sure hope this inspires you to join in the Doodle Pantry challenge this month. It's open through May 24th and remember everyone that plays get this set of digi images FREE!  See you over at the Doodle Pantry Blog!
