Groovy Day

Hi friends! It's Wednesday and time for the start of another Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge. We're having a "groovy" time this week with a new sponsor, The Doodle Garden, and hope you'll join in on the fun!

Isn't this sketch terrific? Fairly simple to put together and it gives you a chance to show off some fun paper combinations or to use tags - so many ways to use this great sketch that Arlana created for this week's challenge.

We are so happy to announce The Doodle Garden as a new sponsor here at SSW.  A relatively new digi stamp company, the owner/illustrator is Jennifer Nilsson. Her Etsy shop is filled with the most adorable images that you'll just love at first sight!  The Doodle Garden is providing 5 digi stamps to the Grand Prize winner of the challenge this week. Thanks Jennifer for your generous support!  You can also see more of Jennifer's wonderful digis on the The Doodle Garden Blog.

This groovy digi from The Doodle Garden is called "Groovy Girl Love" and I just thought it would make such a fun birthday card for a teenage girl. She was colored with Copics and her glasses (so cute I think) were enhanced with crystal lacquer. The perfect papers for this image are Momenta's Peace - you can see that they have shimmer and sparkles all over.

There are so many cute digis at The Doodle Garden and you can see a lot of them on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday's design team cards - take a look for more inspiration.  And have a groovy day!

Barry in Circles

Today we have the cutest release of images at StampFairy featuring Barry, our sweet, dear teddy bear peeking out to greet you.  He's the most adorable bear in StampFairy land and I know you'll want to grab these images from the store!

Here's the full collection released today called Barry Circles and the star image is today's freebie.

This little cutie was brought to life with Copic markers along with a little crystal lacquer to shine up his nose and a little sparkle on the stars to help them twinkle a bit.  The papers are Simple Stories' Harvest Lane.

I was inspired by this sketch drawn by Shirley over at Friday Sketch Challenge.  Love those sketches there and this one was perfect for this new StampFairy image.  I'm entering my card in their challenge.

So there you have it for this Friday - another fab release at StampFairy.  Take a minute to pop on over to StampFairy World to see the terrific cards that my fellow StampFairies made for your inspiration this week.

Scarecrow and a String of Pumpkins

Happy Wednesday everyone! We have a terrific new sketch this week for the challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and we're showcasing digis from everyone's favorite Bugaboo Stamps.

Here's the challenge sketch and we can't wait to see what all our fans and followers do with it! I love the look of the oval within the circle on this one.

Bugaboo Stamps is our sponsor this week and we all love the fun images that Jodi creates there. Our Grand Prize Winner of the challenge will receive 7 digi stamps of their choice totaling $21 - a terrific prize worth playing along with us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week!   Thanks Jodi for your generosity in sponsoring us this week!

I used this adorable Scarecrow with Pumpkin String image from Bugaboo. Isn't this a cute image for fall or Halloween cards?!  It was colored with Copics and the papers used are from Pinecone Press "Spooky" collection. The spider web trim is a MS punch and I printed the bats and cut them out for the embellies. I like how they are hovering around the scarecrow in this sketch.

The Sweet Sketch Wednesday team has such creativity with the images from Bugaboo.  Take a hop over to our challenge blog and see what they created today for your inspiration.

Where's Your Mummy?

Well it's already mid-week and I'm glad this week is half way through. Another busy one around our house and at work and I'm looking forward to the weekend to get some of my Halloween decorations out and start getting into the Autumn spirit :o)  I can't think of a better way to get into the Halloween theme than this fun image from Digi Stamp Boutique, our sponsor this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

Gosh I love this easy and quick to go together sketch that Arlana created for this week's challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. It looks terrific and is easily scaled to any card size or shape and lets those pretty papers show through as well.

This week we're sponsored by Digi Stamp Boutique - our monthly sponsor - and we appreciate the support for our challenges from Sally Ann Hancock, owner of DSB, each month. The Grand Prize winner of the challenge will receive six free digis of their choice from Digi Stamp Boutique!

For my card, I combined three DSB images to create this vignette. The Mummy image is part of a special purchase right now at DSB and comes with two other cute Halloween images.  That Spooky Cat is currently a freebie there and the spider/web image was a freebie last year.  These were combined in my photoshop software, colored with Copics and an orange glitter pen used to highlight a couple elements and sparkle. A couple black pearls to enhance the Mummy's eyes and a spider embellishment round out the design. Papers used here are from Authentique.

I'm playing in several Halloween theme challenges this week with my card - some are asking for "cute" Halloween cards and I just love that emphasis on the cute which is my preference around Halloween - much prefer cute over spooky or scary things.  The challenges are:
Allsorts Challenge Blog - Challenge 176 - Too Cute to Spook
Digi Design Challenge Blog - Too Cute to Spook Halloween Creations
Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog - Challenge 137 - Orange and Black
Eureka Stamps - Challenge 10 - Halloween or Spooky
Hooked on Craft Challenges - Challenge 25 - Halloween
Lexi's Creations - Challenge 76 - Halloween
Cutie Pie Challenge Blog - Challenge 29 - Halloween
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Challenge 185 - BOO-tacular!
Just Some Lines - Too Cute to Spook
Card Makin' Mamas - Halloween or Spooky
Stampin' For The Weekend - Challenge 19 - Something Spooky

Now, the rest of the Sweet Sketch Wednesday team has created some really terrific cards this week using Digi Stamp Boutique images and are so fun to see.  Pop on over to SSW and take a peek at the creativity there and play along with us!

A Corny Card

Just posting a "corny" card today that showcases this adorable new set from Doodle Pantry.  Called Farmer Birdie, the collection is a great one with precolored images, black outlines, sentiments and digital papers all coordinating together.

I used two of the digi stamps in the Farmer Birdie collection to create this image.  The corn stalks in the background is a separate image and pre-colored version and the birdie is a black outline image that I placed in front using my photoshop software.  I added a slight gray shadow on this image to make it stand out in front of the corn stalks for depth.  It was colored with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from another new set this month called Cornfield Ants.

So you can see everything's corny this month at Doodle Pantry! Such fun new images - you'll have to check them out. For an added incentive, there's a 25% off sale right now in the Doodle Pantry Store through October 16. Now that's not corny at all!

Winter Mimi

Happy Friday friends! It's such a nice end to a very busy week and a good start to a packed full weekend. It is homecoming at the high school this weekend and both my kids will be engaged in all the festivities that this event brings - parade, floats, football, dinner, dance and lots of fun.  I should also mention it brings a day full of prep for my daughter - hair, nails, dress, flowers, etc.  I am exhausted thinking about it now that I have itemized everything here!  So let's divert our attention to the card and the release today of this darling Mimi Winter2 collection at StampFairy...

http://www.stampfairy.com/digistamps_children_mimiwinter2.htm
Here's the full collection - it's the second collection featuring our sweet Mimi in winter scenes.  The sentiment circle is today's freebie.

Isn't she sweet in her digitally paper-pieced dress, hat and scarf?  The fun, colorful papers are called Mod Xmas from Clementine Digitals through the MyGrafico online arts and crafts store.  The snowflake embellishments are made with a MS Cornflower punch with a snowflake button on top, sewn together with little french knots in pink thread. Some sparkly stickles on the image, pearls on the Spellbinders die and some MFT flourish diecuts finish it off.

My layout was inspired by this sketch that Carole created over at the Friday Sketch Challenge. I thought it was a perfect fit with this image and the paper I chose. This card is being entered in their challenge this week.  A couple weeks ago a card I created was selected as one of the design team's top three picks - thanks ladies!

So that's it for today's StampFairy release.  To see more creations from the team of StampFairies using this new image, head on over to StampFairy World.

Giving Comfort

Happy Wednesday friends! You know that today brings a new sketch challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and this week we have one of my favorite digi stamp companies as a sponsor - A Day For Daisies.  This card I created today is for my dear sister who is recovering from some major surgery in the past week and has a long road to recovery.  This sweet image speaks to me giving comfort to her right now.

We have this fantastic sketch for you this week.  It's another blast from the past sketch, originally used in week 69 and one of Arlana's best. It's a beautiful layout and makes for a really interesting card.

We're so lucky to be sponsored so often by Tammy at A Day For Daisies. The images she creates are just beautiful and I love how they lend themselves to a vintage look.  Tammy seems to capture all of life's moments which makes her shop the perfect destination when you're looking for that special image for a unique card.  The Grand Prize winner of the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge this week will receive a $12 gift certificate to A Day For Daisies - fabulous prize! Thanks for your generous support Tammy!

This sweet image is called Giving Comfort from A Day For Daisies.  It was colored with Copic markers, paired with papers from MME Stella Rose "Mabel" collection that I still have in my stash and Spellbinders dies used. Some sponging to distress the image and papers help bring a vintage feel to the card.

You can find more inspiration today over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday where my fellow design team mates have created some gorgeous works of art using A Day For Daisies images and the new sketch.  Stop on by there to give your eyes a treat!

Ratatouille

I'm excited to show this card today for the new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. We're using Saturated Canary digis this week and I just love these wonderful images.  And you don't see me using light pastel colors much but I did here and I really like the soft look that was created by doing so.

Here is this week's terrific sketch created by our own Arlana.  Lots of fun possibilities with this one, especially with embellishments and a place for a good sentiment.

Our sponsor this week is Saturated Canary and who doesn't just love the fabulous images that Krista Smith illustrates? The Grand Prize winner of the sketch challenge this week will receive two free digi images from Saturated Canary.  Thanks for your generous support Krista!

This beautiful image from Saturated Canary is called Ratatouille. Isn't her face gorgeous and that little rat helping her is totally adorable! It was colored with Copics in those soft colors and paired with the pretty papers from MME Be Happy collection.  The rolled roses were created with a Mini Royal Roses die from MFT.

I hope this inspires you to join in our challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  Hop on over to our blog and see the fabulous creations the design team is showing using more wonderful Saturated Canary images.
