Mid-Summer Dragonflies

Hi Friends!  Isn't this an amazing image? It's from Sweet Pea Stamps, a new sponsor for our challenge starting today at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

Here's the sketch for this week's challenge. It's a blast from the past sketch, first appearing in September 2011 and designed by Arlana Patten.

We are so happy to announce Sweet Pea Stamps as a new sponsor at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. You'll find a wonderful variety of images from many unique artists at Sweet Pea. Take a look at the website and you'll see some fantastic digis.

The image I chose for my inspiration card today is by artist Norma J Burnell and is called Mid-Summer Dragonflies. I love the drama of this image and it was a challenge to color with all of its elements.  I used Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils to create this look. The papers are by Basic Grey.

Now take a stroll over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday to see the variety of images selected by the design team. There's everything from dramatic to adorable there to inspire you to join us in the challenge this week.

Clever Sausage

Hi there friends! I have some terrific news today... Sally Ann at Digi Stamp Boutique asked me to be a guest designer for her for the next few months! I am both thrilled and honored to join her talented team of designers and here is my first card showing off one of the June releases called Clever Sausage.

This adorable graduation pup was brought to life with Copic markers and the papers are from the Chap line at American Crafts. The sentiment that is so clever is part of the digi set.

You can see all the wonderful digi stamps at the Digi Stamp Boutique store, visit the Digi Stamp Boutique Blog for inspiration from the design team, and join in the conversation with the team at the Digi Stamp Boutique Facebook page.

Happy Birthday to Moo

Welcome back to my little place on the web! We're kicking off another "Moo" challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday today with Digi Stamp Boutique as our monthly sponsor. Isn't this cow just adorable? I had fun making this card in part because of the darling image from DSB and also the wonderful sketch.

Here's the sketch to follow for the challenge. Lots of creative possibilities with the embellishments on this one. The design team cards show how creative you can get with this over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.
We always look forward to the sponsorship by Sally Ann at Digi Stamp Boutique because of the wonderful variety of images offered there. The grand prize winner will receive a £10 voucher to the DSB store. That's a fantastic prize but you have to play along with us for the chance to win!  Thanks Sally Ann!

This stinking cute cow image I selected for my card is part of Cute Farm Set at DSB and I've had my eye on this for a while now. Lots of animal images in the set along with scenery and sentiments - just a ton of possibilities for some really fun cards. It was colored with Copic markers and the papers are from We R Memory Keepers.

Now stop by Sweet Sketch Wednesday and see the other creative cards there using Digi Stamp Boutique images.

Hi there friends! We're featuring images from Deedee Digis this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday for the new challenge that starts today.

Here's the sketch to follow - pretty straight forward and a quick go-together layout that looks terrific.

Deedee's Digis is our sponsor of the challenge this week. Deedee Anderson is the owner and creator of the wonderful selection of images you'll find there. The grand prize winner of the challenge will receive a $15 gift certificate to Deedee's Digis - a super generous prize. Thanks Deedee!

I chose Fluttering By from Deedee's Digis for my card this week. It was colored with Copics and glittered up and the papers are by Bo Bunny.

Ten Tiny Fingers

Hi friends! I'm back with a card featuring my favorite A Day For Daisies and a new sketch for the challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

This is a great sketch and don't let the pentagon shape scare you. Here's a tip: print an extra copy of this sketch to size and cut out the pentagon and use it to trace the lines around your image. Then you just use your paper cutter to cut along those traced lines. To get the evenly spaced border, I pasted my finished image on the background cardstock and then used the paper cutter on each edge by just eyeballing an equal distance on each side.  It turns out great that way and the pentagon shape is what makes this a unique and striking layout. Have fun with it and play along with us in the challenge!

I absolutely adore A Day For Daisies images and always look forward to their sponsorship of our challenges. The lucky grand prize winner of the challenge will receive a $12 gift certificate to A Day For Daisies. We are grateful to Tammy, the owner and illustrator of ADFD, for her sponsorship.

I chose Ten Tiny Fingers from ADFD for my card today. I thought it filled out the pentagon shape so nicely and is such a sweet image. It was colored with Copic markers, some glitter added to the fairy wings and the papers are Chalkboard from We R  Memory Keepers (found them at Walmart).

That's it from me today but there's more inspiration with A Day For Daisies images over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday - pop on over to take a look at the delightful cards the design team created for you.
